My Thoughts on ADWI

I didn't participate in the protest a day without immigrants because I thought it would just prove all the wrong reason why we should stay in America. For example if immigrants didn't go to school for one day it just proves how much less schools would be crowded with out them and how much easier it would be for the teachers to teach and deal with a smaller group of students. Some may argue that the schools lost a lot of money because we didn't show up that day but that also goes to show that they wouldn't need to give the schools all that money in the first place if all immigrants were gone. All in all I didn't participate in the protest because I think it would've been better if we went to school and proved all the right reason why we should stay in America and that we think our education is important to us and that's why our parents/family immigrate here to give us all a better education and future.

T.G.G. Notes #2

"Her voice is full of money"

Myrtles death is the biggest conflict in chapter 7

The death crates tension
Death is a universal theme-
it gets to every reader in the world
Dawn a can be a source of pressure
Forlorn- pitifully sad and abandoned or lonely

The Great Gatsby Notes

Epigraph- a quote in the beginning of a book that foreshadows the theme
" whenever you feel like criticizing anyone.... just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages you've had."
Displacement- out of place
Anachronism- out of time
"She was incurably honest"
"I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known"

T.G.G. Chapter 4 short summary

In chapter four Nick attends another one of Gatsby's parties. Nick and Gatsby drive to New York for lunch and during the drive to N.Y. Gatsby tells Nick about his background. When they get to the city the meet Meyer Wolfshiem, Gatsby's friend. Later Jordon tells Nick about Daisy and Gatsby and Nick discovers that Gatsby bought his large house to be close to Daisy; and threw his parties hoping she'd attend them.

The Great Gatsby Chapter 3 Short Summary

In chapter three you meet Jay Gatsby. Nick gets invited to one of Gatsby's parties but he was surprised because he was one of the many few people to get properly invited. Nick tries to look for Gatsby to meet him, no one really knows Gatsby. Nick later on starts a conversation with a man which he later realizes it is Gatsby.

Literature Analysis #3 Book

For the literature analysis #3 I chose The Story Of My Life  by Helen Keller. I chose this book because I had learned about Helen Keller before and I thought it was really interesting so I wanted to learn more about her. Another reason I chose this book because I thought it would be cool to read about her life from her own perspective.
